OUR MISSION
At the Orkney & Klerksdorp Animal Shelter, our primary mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome as many abandoned, unwanted, and homeless cats and dogs as possible. We believe that every animal deserves a second chance at a safe, loving, and permanent home.
As part of our commitment to responsible pet ownership, all animals are sterilised or castrated before being adopted. We strongly support responsible pet care and are opposed to indiscriminate breeding, as sterilisation plays a vital role in reducing the number of unwanted animals in our communities.
Our goal extends beyond finding homes for animals already in our care. We are dedicated to reducing animal homelessness throughout the Orkney and Klerksdorp area by promoting responsible pet ownership and encouraging the sterilisation of pets.
Education is another cornerstone of our mission. By raising public awareness about proper animal care, welfare, and responsible ownership, we hope to reduce neglect, cruelty, and abuse. Through education and community involvement, we believe we can create a safer, more compassionate future for animals.
Together with the support of our community, volunteers, and donors, we strive to give every animal the love, care, and opportunity they deserve.
